ADDICTION MEDICINE, PSYCHIATRY, PSYCHOTHERAPY AND FORENSIC PSYCHIATRY

 

Dr. Varshney was born and raised in Sikkim, India. She graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.
 
Dr. Varshney completed her internship in internal medicine, and residency in psychiatry at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center/Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine/ Elmhurst Hospital Center, both in New York City. She then went on to complete a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Worcester, Massachusetts, Department of Law and Psychiatry.

After finishing years of training/education, Dr. Varshney held academic, administrative and clinical roles at at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Varshney's research interests include women's health, informed consent, emergency psychiatry, acculturation issues, risk assessments, therapeutic jurisprudence, and corporate fraud. 

Currently Dr. Varshney has a fulfiling  private practice and enjoys teaching psychiatry boards for the American Physician Institute.
